BMR Chart

restingThe basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the rate at which your body burns calories for basic functions while at rest.  If you subtract the BMR from the number of calories eaten, you will arrive at the number of calories available to burn or store.  If you burn more than that number, you lose weight.  If you burn less, you gain weight.  It’s good to know your BMR when determining how many calories you need to burn to achieve your goal.  The chart below is an approximation of BMR without having to do all the calculations and is meant as a guideline.
